Final post: (Wrap up)

I truly have enjoyed to have gotten the opportunity to showcase something into existence that I love. One thing that I would like to improve or even include in my website have been to show a little more diversity in genres. Not only showcase rap in all the albums that I was able to review, perhaps throw in there a little bit of rock or country music as well. In addition promoting the content could have been better in realizing the algorithm of the type of social platform that each social media has. One of my best experience from this project would have been from Twitter having “Pitchfork” who also does album reviews, like my tweet. (lol) This experience has not only given me a taste on how social media can be used as an effective tool to promote any type of content in the digital era. But understand how to learn from the mistakes that were made for the better.

The many tools that I did learn from this would help me in the real world to look a little bit more professional and or land any aesthetical look that could be asked of me for any company. Looking from the screen shot above showing the analytics of the site the most popular my site was from the weeks 03/30/2020 – 04/05/2020 reaching the highest views of 29, and 6 visitors. The most popular of the semester would have been the one on April, reaching up to 58 views. I would say it is probably the most because of the consistency of the last posts before it that had gravitated the people to tune in even more. People like when you are consistent with what you post because that keeps them for something to look forward to. Something that too me was surprising would most likely have to be the amount of views that the highest had gotten because I wasn’t expecting that much for the review.

Album: “Baby on Baby”

Rap

Dababy is from Charlotte North Carolina and is one of the many rappers who has shot to stardom. Dababy or Baby Jesus, not matter what you know him as is sure but enough someone who can display his unique taste and flow to his craft. What I love about him is how he is rightfully known to start rapping right off the rip of many of his songs. In which comes off as energetic, aggressive, and has this forward motion about it. Dababy would appear during SXSW in diapers on the play on words from his name. That brought this focus on the artist and surly was the topic of conversation with many, only to see if he can dish out flows as well as not only in appearances. While very comical and humorous, the 27-year-old artist is very serious about killing this rap game. His charisma explodes with album’s opening tracks such as “Taking It Out,” “Suge” and “Goin Baby.” His flow is aggressive, energetic and in-your-face. Along with bass hitting beats and distinct composition, the production is steady. It does not contain many major shifts which is honestly fine because the flow is consistent throughout. None of the songs are too long and overwhelming. It is as if he knows exactly when to begin and end each track. Overall I really liked this album and am more than eager to see his future unfold down the road. Personally I would rate the album a solid 8.5.

Reason is a very versatile artist in his own domain who was given his opportunity to shine with the guidance of Ab- Soul who is a former TDE artist of his own. I love Ab- Soul because of his witty tendencies to play with the syntax of his rhymes if not caught would just go over your head. Reason had dropped his album ” There You Have It” debuted September 28, 2018 which if you had been a Reason fan for awhile would know that the album itself is actually a remixed and remastered version of his 2017 mixtape. The album itself is well put together by the cohesiveness of full on production. The album is compacted to let the listener understand his origin of attack. From humble beginnings, to not letting anything or anyone steer him in a direction of losing focus. ” Gotta go harder nigga I don’t need new Lamborghinis or wheel stuntin” he raps as he paints this bleak but justifiable paranoia. My favorite verse from the album is, ” All I spit is real, the fans gon’ feel from it I will make it, you will know me, you will love it. So much, will in these raps you think Uncle Phil love it.” Its not little of short to notice that Reason has his mind in the right place to focus on becoming the best rapper he can be and growing to learn this new atmosphere that has now been presented to himself. Overall I would give the Reason album a solid 8.5 and am more than eager what he will bring to the TDE record label in the future.

Album: “DiCaprio 2”

Rap

J.I.D. has been taken under the wing of “Dreamville” as the young talented prodigy from East Atlanta has come forth with his second album. The album “DiCaprio 2” has a total of 14 tracks as J.I.D comes forth with a witfully articulated song such as, “Slick Talk” showing that his word play flow is second to none. As the song starts with the repeating of the word, “activate” as to turn on a switch in what one is in stored in preparation for his rapping abilities. One can also take it as the commencement on the take off into his career aside from the first album. In addition, making clever metaphors to, “Maury” “I’m a father now, and you are my child… the results are found. You are not the – wow…” as to depict the ones that don’t belong in the rap game. What amazes me is that usually when you have songs that show the difference in abilities in the alpha as J Cole as the leader label holder to someone that is just arriving like J.I.D. The difference in rap flow should be seen, but it is songs like, “Off Deez” where J.I.D seems to hold his own as he can show that he can run circles around many in the game even going toe to toe with J Cole as well in a dense breathless brawl. But not only does J.ID. have crazy flow, he also has a range of songs where he has profound contemplations on his road to stardom having dissatisfactions in life even being as successful as he is now such as, “Working out.” All in all, “DiCaprio 2” is a solid album for J.I.D’s second album release and I am more than excited to see what he has for us later down the road as he continues to flourish in the game.

Mission statement

Hi, my name is Aldo Garcia I’m from Minnesota I am a student at Texas State and music is something that we can all agree is a motivating factor in our everyday lives that being good or bad. Now a days everywhere you go whether it’s in school or to the gym everyone is listening to music. Just by the simple fact that you can have a song that was attached to a memory and it is bringing these nostalgic feelings just by listening to it. That is amazing to see, how music can do such a thing. No matter what mood I am in music can change my whole mood just by putting my headphones in and hitting play. The awesome thing about music is that it’s always adapting and evolving. Music will never truly die even if the legends behind the craft do. Therefore, it is important to take note that there is a variety of music out there like the culmination of leaves on a tree. I have chosen to do album reviews because music has helped me during hard times in my life that have helped me overcome obstacles or tune my focus in to get by. It’s true when they say that music can say a lot about someone without saying anything. I hope to learn to understand the types of music that may not be my cup of tea, but to understand the culture in addition to the richness behind them. The thing with music is that it doesn’t restrict you in who can perceive it, because music can be interpreted by just about anyone! I will be using this site of course as others to promote my content such as twitter and Instagram just to name a few to keep followers in the loop.
